Meeting to discuss policy concerns and piloting Facebook access in our schools. This next meeting will have several purposes:

  • Discuss proposed policy changes resulting from today’s discussion.
  • Discuss guidelines for student and staff social media use.
  • Demonstrate how students and staff will access Facebook during the pilot.
  • Demonstrate how schools should configure their own Facebook page.

As of 8:10 this morning, Facebook is accessible to anyone in either the CAB or CSSC.

In a meeting held at 1:30 this afternoon, schools that are part of the Facebook pilot project will determine the 'how, when, what' of delivering service to targeted audiences. In some cases that will include Administration, staff, students, and patrons or some combination of those groups.

In all cases, except for those users at CAB and CSSC, Facebook access will require authentication based on the users identity (tied to Active Directory)
